How it Works

The lifecyle of a Citizen Report

    #1

    Citizen Reports an Issue

Currently, Roadway and Waterway related reports from the public are being accepted by the County. Those respective programs, DuPage Division of Transportation and DuPage Stormwater Management Division, will review* incoming reports within 1 to 2 working days.

*While Roadway-related issues typically have a shorter life-cycle from incoming report to completion, Waterway issues typically take more time to address and are often incorporated into Waterway Planning efforts.

    #2

    DuPage County Review

County Transportation and Stormwater Management staff review the content and location of each incoming report.

For Roadway Reports, we will notify participating* Roadway Authorities if it is determined the issue is outside the County's Jurisdiction. We'll also let the User know if their Report is being forwarded to a participating Roadway Authority.

    * Not all Roadway Authorities within DuPage County are participating in the County's Citizen Reporter app at this time. See the FAQ for a list of participating agencies

    Crews Dispatched to Fix Issues

After staff review incoming Reports, our various County crews are notified and dispatched to address the issues in the field.

  • user email

    #4

    Mission Accomplished

Once DuDOT crews address the reported issue, we'll send an email to the User about the completed Report, and we'll update the report status in the app.

Although Stormwater reports are primarily for planning purposes, you can always check back on the status of your report by logging in at any time.
